5/20/2017 - How to Celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright at 150!
Frank Lloyd Wright was born June 8, 1867 and died April 9, 1959. Not known for humility, one of his famous quotes summarizes his personality:
"Early in life I had to choose between honest arrogance and hypocritical humility. I chose honest arrogance and have seen no occasion to change."

Over the next few weeks there will be many celebrations of Wight’s 150th birthday including the famous Oak Park housewalk which is today. Add Richland Center WI where he was born, many events in the Chicago and southern Wisconsin areas including Taliesin in Spring Green, MOMA and the Guggenheim Museums in NYC, Scottsdale AZ Taliesin West and even in Japan!

For admirers of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs or for our customers just curious about what his designs look like, we have 7 product lines of Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® items.

5) Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® Skylight Framed Tiles.

The skylight in Wright’s Studio in Oak Park is an absolute favorite design. Not only does it sell cotton throws, it is our most favorite framed tile. The polychromatic tile is by Motawi Tile and the frame by Dard Hunter Studios, both made in the USA Michigan and Ohio companies.

6) Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® Liberty Magazine Cover Framed Tiles.

In one of Wright’s down periods he submitted proposals for Liberty Magazine covers in 1926-27. None were published because they were considered too avant-garde for mainstream public acceptance. The three designs shown above have since become very popular: March Balloons, May Basket and Frozen Spheres. Replicated as polychromatic tiles by Motawi Tile and framed by Dard Hunter Studios; both are USA firms.

7) Frank Lloyd Wright Collection® Organic Commandment Coasters.

Some of Wright’s quotes have become famous per the example mentioned above. Another one is his 1940 graphic design using this earlier Organic Commandment. Now printed in the USA as a useful set of four coasters. Limited supply.

Laura Wilder has just introduced her NEW 9 color Limited Edition Framed Block Print titled ‘Spring Mist‘.
