|Laura Wilder's Framed Seasonal|
sets of 4 mini Giclee Prints
Laura Wilder is an enthusiastic artist whose style fits perfectly into the aesthetic of the Arts & Crafts movement original and rekindled.|
Originally a typical college art major, she first worked as a commercial illustrator and graphic artist. At some point she was exposed to the work of the masters of the Arts & Crafts movement and she was stunned and exhilarated she had found an aesthetic that fit her personal style.
So she struck out on her own producing a series of block prints depicting "Artisans at Work," the first of which was modeled after Janice McDuffie who owns a pottery in East Aurora near the Roycroft campus. Soon she was drawn into the Roycroft Renaissance movement and Laura is now a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan.
Laura first became acquainted with Fair Oak Workshops when we approached her in 2005 about creating a seasonal block print series using our logo which was inspired by the Dard Hunter illustration on the title page of Washington Irving's Rip Van Winkle published by the Roycrofters in 1905. That project was very successful and those original block prints are long since sold out.
More recently, Laura repeated a seasonal print series for American Bungalow Magazine celebrating its 20th year of publication. The magazine included a bound in corresponding seasonal print in subscriber copies for each of its four 2010 magazine issues.
Both the Fair Oak Workshops and the American Bungalow seasonal prints series are now available in a slightly smaller format as framed giclee prints.
The prints are available in sets of four in 3 formats, see below. The prints are signed and framed under UV glass.
*The Fair Oak Workshops framed Spring and Summer miniprints will not be available separately after September 30, 2015 although those two prints will still be included in the framed Sets of 4 Square, Horizontal and Vertical, see below.
Reasonably priced, they also make excellent gifts!
The American Bungalow prints have quotes which read:
Spring legend: "IT IS THE SWEET SIMPLE THINGS OF LIFE THAT ARE THE REAL ONES AFTER ALL" Laura Ingalls Wilder
Summer legend: "IF YOU HAVE A GARDEN & A LIBRARY, YOU HAVE EVERY THING YOU NEED" Cicero
Autumn legend: "EVERYONE MUST TAKE TIME to SIT & WATCH the LEAVES TURN" Elizabeth Lawrence
Winter legend: "he is happiest who finds peace in his home." Goethe
