Based in the Pacific Northwest, The Arts & Crafts Press was founded in 1996 by Bruce Smith and Yoshiko Yamamoto. We specialize in crafting letterpress printed note cards and limited-edition block prints. We work with the belief that art is not an object, it is a way of life. We strive to create things of beauty by using our head, our heart, and our hands. |
The title of this print is "Three Sisters - Morning Reflection"
Based on Yoshiko’s watercolor sketch at Scott Lake overlooking the majestic set of three mountains. Yoshiko’s staff of Taylor, Gabby and Molly helped with the carving of 11 linoleum plates.
Then came printing on a letter-press using 14 layers of Charbonnel inks on acid-free 100% cotton Strathmore Paper. The Limited-edition 200 prints are signed and numbered and are available matted or matted and framed. Framed version by Dard Hunter Studios in Chillicothe, Ohio.
The Three Sisters Mountains are volcano complex in Oregon SSE of Portland almost due south of Mt Hood and Mt Washington. Originally known by early settlers as Faith, Hope and Charity, they are now known as North, Middle and South Sisters. They stand 3,075, 3,063 and 3,158 ft respectively above the Alpine Crest Region already 5,200 to 10,358 ft above sea level! North and Middle are considered dormant but South is being monitored for activity.
